The Bobolink in Hadley yesterday

I spent the morning yesterday with a friend, Dave Levy, who does most of his birding along the coast. I was afraid there might be no birds out and about(that can happen!) after he drove all the way out here. Luckily, we saw the Indigo Bunting, the 3 juvenile Eagles, the Green and Great Blue Herons, the Kingfisher, the Bobolinks and many other small birds. And we had luck with the mosquitoes! I look forward to seeing his collection some day!

Here are my Bobolink shots. Maybe next year I’ll get the males in full regalia. The have pretty much molted into dull colors for now. These are the lovely females. The last picture gives you a picture of the field and the difficulty in spotting them.
