What the Marsh yielded on a HOT mid-day

The birding was slow! I was about to give it up when a Kingfisher made a very brief appearance – about as long as it will take you to look at these 4 pictures. That was fine because I was really only trying to experiment today with what my new camera can do with flight.

However, there were also a couple of still shots that were fun, by chance. Two Eastern Kingbirds in a tree looking very sweet together and a Great Blue Heron way back in the meadow-y part of the marsh where I least expected it. For that shot I had to go to manual focus because there were too many weeds for silly auto focus to know what to choose.

They seemed to know each other, going from tree to tree together.
Apparently just as over-heated as the rest of us today!
