Still some migratory birds around
The Chestnut-sided Warbler was a new one for me. I was really excited to see it up close. Then we met a guy who said, “Yup, they’re everywhere right now” and with that, he burst my bubble – but only momentarily. Once I had them on the screen I was thrilled once again. They have an extremely loud call, and call they do – often!

There was a little Blue-gray Gnatcatcher hopping and flying around, catching gnats of course. I love their little spectacled eyes!

A Blue-headed Vireo was more difficult to find but at least for an ID it was sufficient.

Finally, there was a surprise hummingbird taking a short break from humming-birding around.
