Up and down for hours! Swimming in cold pools and walking through sun and rain.
This was a wonderful hike – almost never level. Hard to believe it was only 5 km. We didn’t opt for the horseback ride for the last stretch – in retrospect, maybe we should have! The last 45 minutes were a killer! But the walk was generally exhilarating!
Ten beautiful waterfalls, lots of pretty plants, some orchids (probably many too small to see) and beautiful vistas. Almost no birds to see though plenty to hear. Only one little American Dipper doing what they do, diving over and over in the pool. Jackie spotted the beautiful clear-wing butterfly and the (tiny!) strange black and white bug. After much looking, she discovered that it is a sort of mud cricket.
