Beginning with the eagles, looking back.

It has been a really busy time for the past several months and I have had little time for photography and even less for updating the website.

I’ll start with some winter shots of the eagle pair at Arcadia in Northampton. For months at a time, the river there was a reliable birding destination. Here you see the male fly in for a serious discussion.

I always enjoy birds looking funny and this certainly was one such!

And also a little scary, especially if you are a rodent!

And speaking of rodents, that same day I crept up slowly on this possum in the field but he was oblivious to my presence and finally almost bumped right into me. In case you don’t know, these are important creatures in our environment. They are tick magnets and they feast on the same little ticks so in one day a possum can devour up to 200 ticks, just by grooming itself.
