The winter fields are dotted with small, colorful birds. The Horned Larks fly in swarms and they are often joined by the buntings. The buntings, however, are quite a bit more shy and so harder to photograph. Maybe next year I’ll have more luck/skill. In the flight pictures below, the black wingtips are the buntings. The others are all larks.
